Abstract:

Mechanical thrombectomy devices have been used for treatment of acute ischemic stroke caused by brain vessel occlusion for more than ten years. The initial results were based on case reports and case series and in the last several years on registries, mainly concerning stent retrievers. The present article presents the findings from recent international trials.
