Abstract:: Background: Glioblastoma (GBM) is a highly aggressive primary brain tumor with bad prognosis. Assessing treatment response and disease progression remains challenging, despite the introduction of RANO-criteria. Susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI) has emerged as a valuable MRI sequence for characterizing neuropathological processes, and is particularly sensitive to hemorrhage, calcification, or iron deposition. While a hypointense rim sign on SWI has been described in multiple sclerosis and is associated with a more severe disease burden, its prognostic role in glioblastoma remains unexplored.
