Abstract:: Objectives: A significant percentage of the population experiences dental treatment fear, but what factors trigger it? This diploma thesis investigated whether showing images of a dental treatment or a typical dental sound is sufficient to elicit a response from the autonomic nervous system. Or does the heart rate only change when auditive and visual stimuli are combined?
