Abstract:: Englisch: This thesis provides an overview trough the different factors influencing the Self-evaluation in the Orthodontics. The thesis includes all three, Psychology, Dental medicine and Orthodontics. The importance of Aesthetics in dental medicine is each year growing and so is the wish and demand for the orthodontic therapy. We tried to objectivise the subjectivity of evaluation of aesthetics of frontal view of teeth, with help of the Aesthetic index of IOTN (Index of orthodontic treatment need). The main questions will be discussing the factors influencing the evaluation, such as; gender, age, social-economical class and relationship to the subject.
