EuroSTEC: Soft tissue engineering for congenital birth defects in children: from "biomatrix - cell interaction - model system" to clinical trials
- Abstract
- The aim of this project is to use modern tissue engineering approaches to treat children with structural disorders present at birth, such as spina bifida, urogenital defects or abdominal wall defects and surrounding anomalies. The project strives to elucidate underlying mechanisms and take a translational route through in vitro and animal experiments.
This project will give more insight in the opportunities for advanced technical possibilities with tissue engineering techniques and new treatment strategies for severe and major structural congenital birth defects in children.
