- The new US recommendation on hypertension fueled worldwide discussions, focusing on the new definition of hypertension (> 130/ 80 mmHg) and the new treatment target (< 130/ 80 mmHg). In a series of short articles, published in "Circulation", well-respected experts from 6 countries commented the US guideline and took different viewpoints. This manuscript aims to give an overview on the pro-and-con debate.
